Webgreetings and welcome to the transformation of the Big Bong Mobile into the Ultimate PotPlant Pot.

The first computer installed on board the mobile was the web-famous little qwerty -(web-search on the 2 word combination of little + qwerty and you will see just how highly ranked my little potpal is, BTW, potpal is laptop tleps sdrawkcab) She has earned her position as first qwerty to be installed in the mobile for the very simple reason that she is the qwerty I have been borrowing the longest and is therefore the qwerty that I have logged the most hours on. If computers are to be likened to aircraft, then little qwerty is very much like a World War 1 Sopwith Camel biplane and that's how she feels to fly, wind in the hair and plenty of time to wwwatch the scenery. 100 MegaHertz Central Processing Unit, 16000 RAM, 500 MegaByte Hard Drive top speed = 28.8 bytes per second.

The hyper-critical eye would notice that little qwerty is held in place with a gravity clamp and a hyper-critical eye would further note that a gravity clamp atop a plastic box could hardly be considered installing a computer and further more an old IBM think pad is hardly what you call a computer, however the hyper-critical eye would not be aware of the cathode ray gun targeting capabilities of little qwerty nor of the terra-flop capabilities of the MEGA Server that caches little qwertys output. Tech stuff to one side for a second, there is one very very very important reason why little qwerty is aboard the Big Bong Mobile and that's because she can run off the Big Bong Mobiles 12 Volt battery when/if 240 volt mains power is unavailable. Little Qwerty - Little Qwerty, I sure do love me potpal and the complex issue is how often do I powwwer her up? Eventually little qwerty is to be the ultra back up to the rest of the webcasting array, however in the nowww, she is the <html>generating device for this sub sector.

The second qwerty to be installed in the mobile is slowww-boot, a Pentium 2 class cyber sled -circa last century- and it's name is derived from the fact that it takes at least 4 hours 20 minutes to boot, due entirely to the fact that it has to be assembled from the remains of 4 Pentium 2's. Slowwwboot's assembly is not required unless all else fails.

The third qwerty to be installed in the mobile is "hemp bar herb", a Pentium 3 500mhz CPU, 256 RAM, dual monitored cybernaut which anchored the hempbars webcast from May 2000 till November 2001, herb has over 1,000,000 web cam images on the CPU and when the history of the cannabis law reform qwerties is wwwritten, herb will be one of the legends.

After a year of conflict free use, and for some as yet understood reason, the webcam malfunctioned when I pushed the "Launch Button", stranding the Mobile in re-boot city ever since. All attempts to install a new camera have thus far proved futile, leaving me with no other option but to postpone the grow webshow indefinitely. For the tech minded, the problem seems to be related to an unknown (and unremoveable without re-install) device that keeps installing it's self and grabbing hold of the camera port. A problem that is currently above my level of incompetence.

After the best part of 4 days spent googling up the S.O.T.A.D to no avail - I finally worked my own way around the learning curve. As always, after the solution arrives the actual act of pebkac that caused the initial problem is easier to identify, (P.E.B.K.A.C is program error between keyboard  and chair ) of course, and as all powwwer users will attest, what starts as a small problem often ends up as a huge one, because you have to fix ALL of the possible conflicts which may or may not exist on the operating system in order to ensure you get the actual problem.

The original act of pebkac was Apollo 13ish, a routine task that went awry. When I reassembled herb inside the mobile and reconnected the camera wire windoze found new hardware and 'automatically' installed the wrong drivers. I was eventually able to fix it by disabling the unknown device and reinstalling over the top of it, then 'reenabling' the still unknown device and then updating the drivers and NOT clicking yes when windoze told me that I already have a newer version of each file and would I like to keep my "existing one". Thus, me dub this Fix the disable / nil update method. Indeed, it is fortunate that the launch of a Big Bong Webcast is not as hyped an event as a NASA space mission launch, well perhaps fortunate is not the right word. I mean, past experience has taught me not to 'hype' the Launch, the landing or indeed any part of a content capture mission "anywhere else but here" and so it could be said that a total meltdowwwn of the prime thruster, whilst a bummer when it happened, is not that big a deal in the over all scheme of things, and thus, it looks like the Big Bong Mobile is bbbback in the race, all be it after a 4.20 day pitstop!
